Brant Didden approaches the summit of 14,415-foot Mt. Rainier.

Brant Didden, director of the Malibu Association of Realtors, earlier this month participated in a fundraising climb up Mt. Rainier sponsored by the National Football League to benefit the United Way. Didden’s team included, among others, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell; Jim Mora, coach of the Seattle Seahawks; Tod Leiweke, CEO of the Seattle Seahawks; Peter Whittaker, owner of Rainier Mountaineering Inc. and Ed Viesturs, one of the world’s foremost mountaineers. They reached the summit of 14,411-foot Mt. Rainier in 7 hours.

“It was really amazing to climb with such an elite group of climbers and sports personalities and to see everyone come together for such a notable cause,” Didden said in a recent press release.

The climb raised $380,000 for the United Way and will be featured in an upcoming ESPN special.

Didden also served as volunteer in a search and rescue mission in the High Sierras, in which he successfully located a lost climber.
