The Malibu Times wishes to congratulate travel editor Pamela Price on 25 years of working for the newspaper.
“I’m probably the longest-serving travel editor of any newspaper in America,” Price noted wryly over the telephone.
Pam came to the Times in 1987 after a chance meeting with publisher Karen York through a travel writer’s organization. Since that time she has authored some 275 columns, capturing the local flavor of destinations both near and far.
“Most of all, and what has taken more time than I expected, was to offer travel getaways for Malibu Times readers,” Price wrote. “One I recall, a one-week cruise on a barge in France, was very popular. A runner-up was three days at the Golden Door Spa in Escondida, Calif. For these promotions I thank my travel friends who have been so generous over the years.”
Based out of Palm Springs, Pam has co-authored three editions of ‘100 Best Spas of the World,’ ‘Day Trips from Los Angeles’ and ‘Fun with the Family in Southern CA.’ She blogs regularly for Forbes.com, and readers can view her latest work on page B4.
“Twenty-five years with The Malibu Times has been an important part of my life, and I thank Arnold and Karen York for giving me the opportunity to share my travel writing career with The Malibu Times,” Price wrote.
