
This month marks the start of a new season for Malibu United, the city’s competitive adult soccer club. This year the team has joined the Santa Monica Adult Soccer League.
Returning members include club managers James Whalen, a local real estate agent, David Simpson, a former Malibu High School coach, and team captain Ignacio Rodriguez. The team also has several new players.
Despite a 2-0 loss in their first match, Malibu bounced back to win their second match 3-1 against GT United, putting them in fifth place. Malibu United will face Sunset FC in their next match Sunday.
