ABBY’S MILLSTONE BAKING CO. GRAND OPENING/WELCOME HOME PARTY! 5005 KANAN ROAD, AGOURA HILLS, CA 91301 KANAN VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTER (behind Jack in the Box and Islands at the corner of Agoura Road) Sunday, November 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Abby Franke will be baking for his community again! Walter Cocka, Debbie Vardi, Jerry Rodriguez and Bert Mendoza are opening Abby’s Millstone Baking Co. in Agoura Hills, CA. The first name may be familiar because Walter was Head Baker at the community’s favorite Stone Ground Bakery where Abby Franke was the original co-founder and long time owner. The major motivation for the new bakery was to get Abby and Walter baking together again as soon as possible for our friends in the region. With overwhelming support from many customers and friends in Agoura Hills and surrounding communities, money was raised to economically build a tasteful, European-style, Kosher Parve bakery in Kanan Village Shopping Center, a home away from home where everybody is welcome! Reflecting the owners’ commitment to healthy products, the bakery will be more than Kosher Parve, only delicious natural ingredients will be used. Also preservative free, flour will be milled daily on their circa 1970 millstone, aka stone mill. Once these guys get back to baking you’ll see the bakery humming 24/7 with the mill doing it’s part in the middle of the night. Like no other bakery, the display cases will be full to overflowing with mouth-watering pastries and racks of delectable sandwich loaves and artisan breads. We will be using old fashioned original recipes made from scratch and by hand.
