Ed Savko, who ran the legendary biker hangout Rock Store on Mulholland Highway for more than 50 years, died April 2 of heart failure at age 86, according to multiple reports. Savko bought the little stone roadside diner in 1961 with his wife Veronica. Buoyed first by the patronage of movie star and motorcycle enthusiast Steve McQueen, the Cornell diner soon became a hangout for many bikers and celebrities alike. It became a destination for motorcycle enthusiasts around the globe and was featured in many films and magazines.
