Council to name new mayor, mayor pro tem
At its meeting on Monday, the City Council will elect a new mayor and mayor pro tem. With the council usually rotating its leadership and the election being mostly a formality, Ken Kearsley is expected to be named mayor and Jeff Jennings will likely be appointed mayor pro tem.
The meeting will take place at City Hall, located at 23815 Stuart Ranch Road, at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 456.2489.
The Malibu Times
enters race
For the third consecutive year, The Malibu Times will participate in the Saint John’s Media Invitational Relay Challenge. The 5-mile race is a supplemental event to the 25th annual Jimmy Stewart Relay Marathon, a benefit for the Saint John’s Health Center.
The participants on The Malibu Times team will be Associate Publisher Laura Tate, Assistant Editor Jonathan Friedman, Art Director Nira Lichten, intern Daniella Bosio and writer Ryan O’Quinn.
The day’s festivities, which will include food, entertainment and activities, will take place at Griffith Park.
The relay marathon will begin at 8 a.m. and the media race will start at 10:30 a.m. For more information, call 829.5511.
