Your coverage of the panel discussion after the screening of “Inherit the Wind” illustrates how we have changed over the last 50 years.
Compared to today, 1960 was a high-watermark in our films and in our politics. “Inherit the Wind” is a great movie because it rises above the politics it depicts so well. The panel discussion makes clear that, should there be a remake of that old classic, instead of dramatizing politics, we would be engaged in that far lesser pursuit of politicizing drama.
