Two people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Friday night at a DUI checkpoint in Malibu, according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station.Â
The checkpoint was held on Pacific Coast Highway and John Tyler Drive. Authorities screened more than 1,000 cars and tested six drivers for sobriety between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 a.m. Saturday.Â
Sheriff’s deputies also impounded four cars and cited eight people for license-related violations.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to the City of Malibu.
