The first Cornucopia Farmer’s Market of the year opened on Sunday, with a variety of vendors selling everything from fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers to jewelry, clothing and soap.
A kickoff ceremony took place as part of a statewide campaign to promote efficient water and energy use at the market. The West Basin Municipal Water District, in partnership with Flex Your Power, presented a free, high-efficiency clothes washer and dryer to Cornucopia, a nonprofit organization that promotes environmental awareness and establishes model teaching programs.
