I wish to thank The Malibu Times for the publicity they gave to the Memorial Day packing party for the troops, sponsored by Operation Interdependence, which helped make it such a success.
Forty-six dedicated, cheerful volunteers assembled together last week to pack boxes for our wonderful soldiers. They brought snacks, lotion, pens, toys, shampoo, candy and other items the soldiers love to receive from home. Hundreds of letters had been written by local schools and residents that contained heartfelt messages and pictures for each package. Because of the generosity and hard work of the Malibu community, we were able to prepare a record 1,000 care packages for our heroes. Thank you, Malibu, and thank you, Malibu Times.
