Sheriffs with the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff Department arrested a total of 27 people at a DUI checkpoint on Friday night, Jan. 16, including one arrest for DUI, or driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The weekend checkpoint, which ran from 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday, took placeĀ at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Webb Way, just west of the Civic Center area.
The majority of arrests, at a total of 16, were made for unlicensed drivers, while eight drivers with suspended licenses were also arrested.

- 15 vehicles were released per checkpoint release procedures
- 1 motorist was arrested and booked for a misdemeanor arrest warrant
- 2 motorists were cited and released for Misdemeanor traffic warrants
- 1 motorist was arrested for allowing an unlicensed driver to drive
