The top-ranked Pepperdine men’s volleyball team was defeated by the third-ranked UCLA Bruins 3-1 on Saturday.

Pepperdine’s streak of six consecutive match sweeps was ended in a four-game loss.

The Bruins won 30-20, 30-21, 20-30, 30-24, and raised their record to 8-1 overall, 4-1 in MPSF play. The Waves fell to 6-1 and 2-1 in league action.

Pepperdine junior Sean Rooney recorded a match-high of 20 kills. Junior Fred Winters added 18 kills.

The Waves hitting percentage of .230 was the lowest of the season.
