The Malibu AYSO All Star Boys U-12 team, the Flying Fish, won 11 of 11 games at the Area 10E Championship, making them tournament champions. The Flying Fish scored 39 goals, while holding opponents to four goals during the entire tournament, which took place in Moorpark over the last three weekends.

The Malibu team earned the first seed in the championship tournament after winning all eight games during the previous weekends. The local boys defeated a team from Thousand Oaks with a 5-0 shutout during the quarterfinals. Next, in the semifinals, they handily beat a Moorpark team 4-1. Finally, the Flying Fish earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Newbury Park’s A-Team in the finals for the championship trophy.

The Flying Fish will represent Malibu at the Section 10 Playoffs, taking place in Bakersfield in March.
