The 16th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner is taking place next week, and interested residents can volunteer or donate food, supplies or personal care items to those in need. The community dinner serves Malibu day labor workers and people in need; it takes place at Malibu United Methodist Church and is co-sponsored by the church and the Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue.Â
Volunteers are needed to decorate and set up the day before Thanksgiving and to serve food and clean up on Thanksgiving Day.Â
Donations of food for the Thanksgiving dinner are also needed. Volunteers can drop off drinks, desserts, paper goods or decorations the day before Thanksgiving or drop off hot prepared food on Thanksgiving morning by 10 a.m. Additionally, personal care items such as toothbrushes and shampoo can be donated as well. The personal care items are distributed in gift bags to dinner attendees.Â
