Two local filmmakers previewed their film project “Malibu Stories” Monday evening at Soho House Malibu. Jay Armitage and Jules Williams, both from the United Kingdom, collaborated as 27 Mile Films for the first time on the documentary highlighting some of the people who also call Malibu home and how the city has impacted their lives and sparked their creativity. The hour-long film features 10 Malibu residents the filmmakers have described as “part of the tapestry of this magical place.”

“Malibu Stories” will be screened the evening of June 15 at 7 p.m. at Malibu City Hall as part of the Cultural Arts Commission’s Salon Series. No reservations will be needed to secure one of the 240 available seats. The film’s producers will be on hand for a Q&A session with some of the residents featured. A celebrity guest will moderate the evening followed by a reception and refreshments. Admittance is free.
