After Malibu just dodged a bullet on brushfires, I had hoped that some of our councilmembers, other than Joan House and Lou La Monte, would place on the May 13 City Council meeting agenda a discussion of rescinding consideration of the Bluffs/Charmlee Parks Swap, which guaranteed overnight camping and the risk of brushfire starting upwind of our city. I was disappointed not to find it there as of Saturday. Of course, I’m one of those who worked to achieve cityhood who expected Malibu City councilmembers to be different from the uncaring politicians of other cities.
