Longtime Malibu local and diving legend Greg Louganis announced his engagement to partner Johnny Chaillot on Monday in an interview with People Magazine.Â
Louganis said he and Chaillot, a 52-year-old paralegal, are planning on exchanging nuptials in the fall. The 53-year-old Olympic diving gold medalist took to Twitter to thank fans for their support after the engagement was announced.Â
“OMGosh! Thank you all SO much! Love my life and love my Johnny!” he wrote.Â
Louganis, who won five Olympic medals in the 1980s, recently worked as a coach on the celebrity reality show “Splash.” He is also set to be among the first group of athletes inducted into the Gay and Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame in August.
