At the City Council meeting last night, I was perplexed about the discussion regarding a clothing store replacing Malibu Lumber as a new tenant. I found it rather strange that the city has not alerted the landlord that the proposed tenant may not be granted a conditional use permit to operate said use at that site, as that use is redundant. Additionally, because Malibu Lumber has been closed for over six months, a new application process will have to be started for a complete change of use, and while another clothing store is not needed in the Civic Center, a hardware store certainly is.
My questions is, what is going on here?
