A passive park and what city officials called in a press release “the centerpiece of the city’s … commitment to clean water” opens on Saturday at 11 a.m. Legacy Park will be introduced to the public at a ceremony that is expected to include city and state officials as well as environmentalists. The park has been under construction since last year, and planning for it began in 2006. It is on the site of the former Chili Cook-Off property on PCH between Webb Way and Cross Creek Road. Parking for the event will be available at the corner of Civic Center Way and Webb Way.
