Longtime Malibu resident Elva Moore died on Oct. 16. She was 97.

Moore moved to Malibu with her husband Douglas in 1964. They first lived in Serra Canyon and later on Vantage Point Terrace. She was an active member of many Malibu organizations and the Malibu Presbyterian Church, and was a past president of the Senior Citizens Club. Moore was also an avid and excellent bridge player.

Moore left Malibu in 1999 when it became necessary to move to an assisted living facility. “To her very last day she missed her many Malibu friends and the active life she enjoyed there,” her daughter Jeannie Epman wrote.

Moore is survived by daughters Jeannie Epman and Pat Osborne; son Monty Moore; sons-in-law Ron Epman and Larry Osborne; grandchildren Dan Moore, Rachel Moore, Amy Epman and Greg Epman and great grandchildren Anthony Moore and Chloe Griffith.

A memorial service took place on Tuesday at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
