The City of Malibu’s Parks and Recreation Department is inviting residents to provide input regarding updates to the department’s Master Plan at one of two public meetings Feb. 15 and Feb. 16 at Malibu City Hall’s multipurpose room.

The comprehensive Master Plan update will revise the plan, which was completed in 2000.

“The objective is to translate the community’s values and vision into an action plan for parks, trails, recreation facilities and programs,” a release from the city states. “The 2012 Master Plan will serve as the blueprint for the future goals of Malibu parks and recreation, and will outline implementation strategies to achieve those goals.”

The city has contracted with PROS Consulting to assist with the Master Plan update and to lead these community workshops. PROS Consulting is a national consulting firm that has worked on similar projects for other California cities.

The public input meetings take place Wednesday and Thursday at City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Rd., both at 6 p.m.
