George and Emma Jean Killinger, Malibuites since 1956, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on April 23. The couple met in Newport, Kentucky in 1942, when George was 17 and Emma Jean was 18 years old. George then left to serve in the U.S. Army until April of 1946. Upon his return home, George and Emma Jean dated and were then married in 1949. They moved to Malibu seven years later, where they raised their children, and now have grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
