Richard A. Stewart, a resident of Malibu for 30 years, died suddenly from a heart attack on May 3. He was 57.

Stewart was born Nov. 2, 1945 in Hartford Conn., moving to California in 1956. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley. His career was spent in sales, which always led him into management positions and eventually owning his own business. He has sales awards too numerous to mention.

Stewart was a mentor to many people throughout his life. He touched everyone who knew him and was sincerely interested in everyone as an individual. When not working, he loved playing tennis, basketball and playing with his grandson, Dylan. He was a very caring and loving person and will not be forgotten here on Earth.

Stewart is survived by his mother, Theresa; brother, Bob; son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Amy; grandson, Dylan; sister-in-law, Barbara; and three nieces Michelle, Kim and Sara.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Athletes and Entertainers for Kids, 800.933.kids, or the American Heart Association. A memorial service took place May 17 at St. Monica Parish in Santa Monica.
