Resort not to a spa

I am shocked that one would even consider placing a resort like the Malibu Valley Inn and Spa in the middle of the Santa Monica Mountains, especially after we just preserved a beautiful 588-acre parcel for future generations. Can you imagine the cars that would clog Malibu Canyon Road, Las Virgenes and Mulholland, especially on a summer day when beach traffic is at its peak?

I have always felt that it is the rural nature of Malibu that makes it so special. Preserving open space in the Santa Monica Mountains is imperative if we are to keep this rural feel. Commercial development in the Santa Monica Mountains is, in my opinion, the last thing we need in Malibu.
