Mangia Italian Eatery, located in the Trancas Country Mart, closed its doors for the last time this week, according to various sources.
Mangia, which opened at Trancas in late September 2014, was operated by Tra di Noi owner Antonio Alessi and served classic Italian dishes as well as a full bar. It was the first full-service restaurant to open at Trancas Country Mart following an extensive renovation to the shopping center in western Malibu.
Over the past 15 months, Mangia became a community favorite, hosting Mangia Rides on Sundays.
Sources report that the closure was due to a partner dispute, but details about the closure have not surfaced and phone calls to the restaurant on Tuesday afternoon went unanswered.
