Malibu’s only adult men’s soccer team — Malibu United Soccer Club — defeated nine other teams in the Santa Monica Adult Soccer League champions league, finishing the season with a 7-1-2 record.
The victory marks the second year in a row that United has won its spring season, after posting a perfect 10-0 record last spring before being promoted to the champions league. Striker Gabe Bonetti led the team netting 16 goals, while Damon Manak posted 17 assists. United also leads the league in goals with 71 overall.
The team will continue play at the start of the summer league season in May.
