If you read the statistics on the last weekend of July in Malibu, we need help. When you see the discarded beer cases (not six-packs) lying by the side of the road, the number of accidents on PCH comes as no surprise. Why not make PCH a toll road in the summer months? June through September from Topanga Canyon to County Line! Residents would get a free pass sticker. The revenue could pay for the toll booths, added highway patrol, and would clean up the trash and help maintain the beaches.
A toll road would cut down on drivers under the influence, accidents, the Z traffic (they could use 101) and result in fewer traffic jams A toll road would help PCH back from sirens, accidents and the never-ending noise and pollution. This is not an elitist issue, it is a safety issue.
