Isabella Rossellini

She’s been known as one of the most beautiful women in the world and capitalized on it as a model and the face of Lancôme more than 30 years ago. As the daughter of Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman and Italian director Roberto Rossellini, Isabella Rossellini successfully transitioned to actress, filmmaker, author and philanthropist. Now 67, the luminescent Rossellini will be making her Malibu stage debut this Saturday and Sunday for her production of “Link Link Circus.”

The show is billed as a “theatricalized lecture written by Rossellini.” It is a comedic and scientific look at the links between humans and animals via Darwin’s theory of evolution. Expect a multimedia experience featuring short comic films, Rossellini’s own home movies, puppetry, animation and even the actress’s own dog.

The multifaceted Rossellini has been recognized for her insightful and comic observations of animal behavior, winning awards for a series of shorts: Green Porno, Seduce Me and Mammas. She is currently completing a Master’s degree in Animal Behavior at Hunter College in New York City near her home.

Link Link Circus by Isabella Rossellini is at the Malibu Playhouse Saturday, Feb. 15, and Sunday the 16th at 8 p.m. both nights. Tickets are available at malibuplayhouse.org.
