The National Weather Service has issued both a High Wind Warning and a Red Flag Warning for Malibu. The Red Flag Warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Friday, with low humidity around 15 percent and high winds creating favorable conditions for wildfires. Strong winds from 25 to 40 miles per hour will persist until noon Friday, with gusts up to 60 miles per hour. The winds are expected to remain strong and gusty through Friday morning. The winds will be capable of downing trees and power lines and causing dangerous driving conditions, especially for high profile vehicles, according to the NWS. The winds should weaken by Friday evening, but occasionally gusty winds may remain throughout the weekend.
