Tanner is an eight-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier who was adopted from the Agoura Hills Animal Shelter in April 2009. Prior to finding a loving home, he was a homeless street dog, but after recovering emotionally and physically he is now a certified Emotional Support Animal who spends his days showering his family with affection, serving as the pit bull goodwill ambassador at the Trancas Dog Park and raising money for various rescue groups including Healthcare for Homeless Animals (formerly Malibu Pet Companions), Karma Rescue, Best Friends Animal Society and Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation.Â
Tanner is a contenstant in the third-annual Malibu Times Best Dog of Summer contest. Do you think your dog has what it takes to win the Best Dog title and take home amazing prizes — and barking rights?Â
Send a photo of your favorite furry friend (dogs only, please) to editorial@malibutimes.com along with a few sentences describing why your pooch should win the crown.Â
Deadline to submit entries is Aug. 1. Winner will be announced in the Aug. 4 edition of The Malibu Times and will be featured in print and online.
Good luck!
