Lavenderwood Farms, located in Thousand Oaks, joined forces with Thorne Family Farms from Bonsai Dr., to bring the Malibu community a unique yoga experience—Yoga with Goats.

Malibu locals and visitors grabbed their mats and entered the hay-filled large pen set up in the orange groves on Sunday afternoon, while baby billy goats scampered around, nibbling on hay, leaves or anything else that looked edible to them. Yoga instructor Meridith Lana encouraged students to go with the flow, either enjoying the poses or sitting on their mat playing with the goats. The purpose of the event was to relax, strengthen, stretch and enjoy life in a whimsical way.

The well-behaved baby goats curled up on yoga mats, crawled into laps, scampered under spread legs and played with each other, all while students laughed and smiled in the yoga posture.

Thorne Family Farms supplies organic fruits and vegetables to restaurants and grocery stores. Local chefs and neighbors stop by the farm to see the weekly harvest and visit with owners Larry and Laurel Thorne.
