Malibu native graduates from Duke University

Jackson Pfeiffer receives his Honors Certificate from Professor Connel Fullenkamp, Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Economics Department at Duke University, during the graduation ceremony last month.

Malibu native Jackson Pfeiffer graduated magna cum laude from Duke University on May 12 with a Bachelor of Science in economics, with a concentration in finance. His degree was conferred with high distinction in recognition of his honors research thesis titled, “Variance Risk Premium Dynamics: The Impact of Asset Price Jumps on Variance Risk Premia.” Pfeiffer also earned two certificates, Markets and Management Studies and Arts of the Moving Image, upon graduation.

During his time at Duke, Pfeiffer was a member of the varsity crew team and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He also worked as a teaching assistant for the Economics Department and as a Mathematics Department grader.

Pfeiffer is currently taking postgraduate math courses at Duke in preparation for his pursuit of a Ph.D. in financial economics.

Pfeiffer attended Webster Elementary School and ViewpointSchool while growing up in Malibu.
