Larry and Joyce Marshall said it right. Getting current emergency information in Malibu is next to impossible. Our emergency radio, 1620 on your AM dial, is still in the test mode and has been for months, maybe a year. Reception in mid-Malibu is nearly inaudible. They need to boost the power or make other technical changes.
Charter Cable, as a community service, could install a phone patch so that this newspaper’s reporters could use cell phones to give timely, on-the-spot voice reporting of emergency events in Malibu over our local TV channels 3 or 15. As for the video, they could run footage of out previous fires. Any burning bush in a firestorm looks the same.
