Malibu resident Odette Nehme, an organ recipient, earlier this month joined other organ donors, recipients and advocates to decorate a float for the 2010 Donate Life Rose Parade, themed “New Life Rises.” The float features a phoenix and represents those who give life in their passing and the people whose lives are renewed through organ transplantation. The bird soars high above 24 float riders, and adorning its tail feathers are 76 floragraphs-artistic portraits created with floral materials-of organ, eye and tissue donors from across the country. The 121st Rose Parade will take place Jan. 1, at 8 a.m.
