Parents of incoming Malibu kindergarteners are invited to tour their local elementary school and learn more about enrolling their children for the 2016-17 academic year at one of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District’s (SUMMUSD) Kindergarten Roundup events.
SMMUSD schools will be hosting roundups on Thursday, Feb. 11, with Malibu roundups taking place at Juan Cabrillo Elementary at 8:30 a.m., Point Dume Marine Science School at 8:45 a.m. and Webster Elementary at 9 a.m. Parents are required to bring their child’s birth certificate, health records and a verification of Malibu residence.
Children must turn five on or before Sept. 1, 2016, to enter kindergarten for the upcoming school year. Transitional kindergarten students must turn five from Sept. 2, 2016 through Dec. 2, 2016.
