Another Sept. 11 has come and gone. However, there is one difference, in Malibu, to remember. I wish to thank the wonderful students of Pepperdine University for their magnificent display of American flags on the front law adjacent to Pacific Coast Highway. As the hundreds of flags (one for each life lost on 9/11) wave in the wind, I have warm thoughts of what our country’s democracy and patriotism really mean to me.
These flags represent all kinds of feelings of freedom, honor, service and more. I believe Pepperdine University and its terrific students should be congratulated for this wonderful and idealistic view. Thanks to all who participated in this glorious event.
