W. David Baird, author of several books and articles about the American West and Native Americans, spoke to the Malibu Rotary Club about being a paid expert witness.
Baird has penned researched and referenced history books for most of his life, one of which was recently used as a centerpiece in a lawsuit filed by the Quapaw tribe against a mining and railroad company that destroyed Native American land. The mining company was also using his book as a reference to what happened a century ago.
