Fifth-grader Russell Kish excels academically in all subjects and serves as a role model inside and outside the classroom. He is always willing to help those in need and is consistently a team player, whether on the field playing sports or serving as vice president of the Student Council.
When talking about Kish, one of his fellow students said, “He is always polite and kind, and he will always be that way. Russell will help you if you are in need because he is very intelligent, kind and polite.”
Teachers describe Kish as someone who has an innate perception of what is going on around him and always knows when he is needed. He has the ability to handle situations that others might avoid, and he carries out his actions in a humble manner. Kish strikes a balance between sharing his ideas and listening to others, which he utilizes to find solutions that satisfy everyone involved in a particular situation. With his academic and leadership qualities, he is respected by his peers as well as adults.
“His passion for learning, his awareness of others in his environment and his humble attitude make Russell an exemplary member of our community,” teacher Kris Jennings wrote.
