Alberto “Barefoot” Perusset, a seasoned marathon runner, competed in Charlie Alewine Racing’s Labor Day Triple Day Marathon on Sept. 3 at Marina Vista Park in Long Beach. Perusset ran in honor of the late Olympic runner and fellow Malibuite David Torrence.
Perusset also competed in the Mexico City Marathon, one of the largest in the world with 45,000 runners, on Aug. 27. He represented the Malibu Half Marathon and 5K in Mexico City, Mexico. Perusset was one of the founders of the Malibu race; it will take place on Nov. 5.
The “Barefoot Runner” has competed in 150 marathons, with 111 of those done barefoot.
