Thanks to Arnold York for the Joe/bear in the word analogy. It’s frighteningly true. But while that bear is disrupting the forests there is another predator is invading Malibu-sharks are swarming our city biting at the heels of long time merchants. Their sharp, horrible teeth are slashing everything but rents, chewing at Cross Creek’s shoe repair and book merchant and swimming right at the likes of Sherman, sniffing and targeting her dogs as prey. When I ran for office I promised I would stand by our small local merchants. While I didn’t get elected, maybe I can encourage residents to help me secure some shark repellent because the city seems to be all out.
