The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is seeking representatives from Malibu to serve on a committee to examine the feasibility of an emergency funding measure and future capital improvement bond measure. The potential funding measure would be intended to offset all or a portion of the district’s deficit due to the continuing state budget crisis. The application for Malibu residents who would like to serve on the committee is Sept. 30. For more information, go to http://www.smmusd.org/fiscal/ParcelTaxCommittee.html.  Completed applications can be emailed to swahrenbrock@smmusd.org, faxed to 310.581.1138, or dropped off at the district office: 1651 16th Street, Santa Monica. Â
