The City of Malibu has been given The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its annual financial reporting. The certificate is the highest award related to governmental accounting and financial reporting, according to a press release from the city.
“This award presents an opportunity to demonstrate that the core values of the officials who manage and govern the City of Malibu—professionalism, responsiveness, ethical conduct, and putting the public first—are the foundation for everything public servants should do,” Malibu Mayor Laura Rosenthal said. “We thank the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for recognizing the city with this certificate.”
The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving about 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
