The Malibu Planning Commission could not come to an agreement this past Tuesday to send a recommendation on the Citywide View Restoration Ordinance to the city council. The commission will consider the ordinance at its April 19 meeting. This is the second consecutive meeting a decision on the ordinance has been postponed. With Commissioner Joan House absent, the commission was unable to come up with the necessary three votes to send a recommendation for or against the ordinance to the council. The ordinance would establish a private right of action for property owners to restore pre-existing views that have been obstructed by foliage growth.
