The following incidents were reported between 9/4 – 9/29:

9/4

Jewel bandit

Deputies responded to a home burglary on Shoreheights Drive in Malibu. The victim said the glass kitchen window was broken into and personal jewelry was stolen from the master bedroom. The jewelry was estimated to cost $2,000. 

9/22

One of a kind

Two custom-made bicycles were stolen from a garage on Malibu Road. The victim said she left the garage door open for a few hours and the bicycles were leaning up against the wall and, upon return, the custom bikes were stolen. The bicycles were estimated to cost, $18,410 and $17,495.

Lack of ID

A vehicle parked at the Malibu Lagoon parking lot on Cross Creek Road was broken into. The window was smashed and a tote bag with miscellaneous items including multiple credit cards were taken. The victim was informed that multiple transactions were being made at a Starbucks, CVS Pharmacy and a Ralphs in Malibu. The deputy contacted the store manager to CVS Pharmacy and said two Hispanic females allegedly attempted to purchase items with the card but the transaction was incomplete due to lack of identification.

Dusty prints

Deputies responded to a residential burglary on De Ville Way in Malibu. A rear glass window was shattered and multiple items were stolen such as a computer, recording equipment and an Xbox. The victim also noticed his Apple laptop was moved from the east corner of the master bedroom to the north side. Deputies observed the laptop and found multiple fingerprints left on the screen that were visible from the dust layer on the laptop. 

Broken glass

Deputies responded to a burglary on Blue Dane Lane in Malibu. The victim said she found the hallway closets open and multiple bedrooms were ransacked. The sliding door to the master bedroom was smashed and drawers were left opened. The victim was unable to determine what was stolen during the time of the incident. The damage to the glass door was estimated to cost $1,000.

9/28

Grand Theft

A vehicle parked at a restaurant on Pacific Coast Highway was broken into and various items were stolen. A leather wallet, miscellaneous credit cards, an iPhone 8 and $220 cash was stolen from the vehicle. The victim said the driver side rear door was unlocked upon returned. 

9/29

Caught on camera

Deputies responded to a disabled burglary alarm at multiple businesses on Sea Star Drive in Malibu. Multiple items such as a computer were stolen. Deputies observed the security cameras and noticed three male suspects shattered the glass door to enter the property and steal multiple items from the stores.

Desktop theft

An Apple desktop computer and keyboard were stolen from a garage on Sea Star Drive in Malibu. The victim believes the suspects entered and exited through the unlocked side door to the garage. The desktop was estimated to be worth $2,500.
