With regard to Mr. Tom Bates’ letter that is chock full of misinformation, I take exception to being labeled as one of “the folks” who opposes the proposed LNG facility off our coast. Rather than spending time writing such a letter to the local paper, Mr. Bates’ time could be better spent learning the irrefutable facts that clearly outline the real threat that such an LNG facility poses to our environment.
As a longtime resident of Malibu, I care deeply about our community and its environment and urge anyone else with similar feelings about Malibu to oppose any LNG project that is anywhere near our coast. Otherwise, we will all just have to live with the daily risk it would bring if it is allowed to be built. Learn the facts, be adequately informed and there is no way you would want this project in our “backyard” either!
