The annual Malibu Blood Drive is being held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, at City Hall. In partnership with the American Red Cross, the city is holding the event in the multipurpose room.

According to the American Red Cross website, while the actual donation takes around 8-10 minutes, people can expect the process to take up to an hour, from their arrival to departure.

“As a professional firefighter, I can attest first-hand to the countless lives that are saved because regular people donate blood,” Mayor Rick Mullen said in a shared statement from the city. “There are not many ways you can make such a positive contribution to the community with so little effort, so I urge everyone to give blood.”

Call the Malibu Senior Center at 310.456.2489 ext. 357 for appointment availability.
