The fourth annual Thank You Mother India Fundraiser took place this past Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Malibu home of philanthropist Dr. Amarjit Marwah. Over 200 guests attended the event to thank Mother India for the gift of yoga.
The fundraiser launched the Yoga Gives Back (YGB) Foundation’s annual five-month campaign to raise money and awareness for the poor in India. YGB raised nearly $70,000 through last year’s campaign and hopes to raise over $100,000 this year.
YGB also presented its first ever Namaste Award to Mallika Chopra at this year’s Malibu fundraiser. Chopra, the author of “Living With Intent,” accepted her award by giving a speech on the power of yoga and by leading guests through a brief meditation.
