As millions of Americans sit down for Thanksgiving dinner, let’s not forget about the Republican War on the poor. About 3.5 million Americans will have less on their plates this year as Tea Party radicals are subjecting the food stamp program to the same kind of assault they used to shut down the U.S. government.
All Americans should know this food stamp purge (Southerland Amendment) is a Republican thing with not one Democrat voting to decimate the program. And it gets worse! As Tea Party and Republican politicians sit down to their Thanksgiving meals, they’ll be planning to cut $40 billion (half) from the $82 billion food stamp assistance program in 2014. Put the thought of compassionate Republicans out of your head forever.
