Malibu DAR Hosts Military Luncheon

Featured speaker Linda Tacconelli talks about how her path led to the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation at this year’s Malibu DAR Women in the Military Luncheon.

The Malibu Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) hosted its 17th annual Women in the Military Luncheon on May 10 at the Malibu Nature Trust Clubhouse. Among those who attended the event were California State DAR regent elect Carol Oakley Jackson, Malibu regent Ann DeMartini, Honorary Malibu chapter regent Kim Lucas and WWII Marine veteran Marjorie Dukatz. 

Becca Peyton sang patriotic songs throughout the luncheon and the color guard was provided by the Los Angeles Eschscholtzia Society of the Children of the American Revolution. Malibu High School senior Gabriella Grahek received the annual DAR Good Citizen Award, presented by member Laura Gilbard.Â
