The BNP Paribas Open is currently in progress just two hours away from Malibu in nearby Indian Wells. The BNP Paribas Open is a world-class tennis tournament that hosts the world’s top men’s and women’s tennis players such as Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Caroline Wozniacki and Kim Clijsters.
This year’s tournament, which began Monday with the qualifying matches and continues until the men’s final on Sunday, March 20, promises to offer a great deal of on-court entertainment, great tennis and special activities. This year’s tournament features the addition of the Hawk-Eye line challenge on all eight match courts, not just the three stadium courts.
BNP Paribas Open owner Larry Ellison, one of Malibu’s residents and owner of Malibu Racquet Club, said he believes all players should have a fair chance, not just the highest ranked players who are playing on the three stadium courts.
The BNP Paribas Open is one of the most attended tennis tournaments in the world. Last year, the tournament hosted more than 300,000 visitors during the two weeks. The BNP Paribas Open also has the second largest tennis stadium in the world.
